REYS, TCMDC reach 12th Manipur Veteran T20 Cricket Tournament semi-finals

Imphal, March 01 2025: REYS, Nagamapal and TCMDC, Thongju reached the semi-finals of the 12th Manipur Veteran T20 Cricket Tournament with quarterfinal victories today at Langthabal Public Ground.

In the first quarterfinal match, REYS beat KCC, Kongba by 40 runs to seal their place in the semi-final.

Rajesh hit an unbeaten 52 off 37 balls while S Jayenta 39 off 31 and Th Pyarlal 23 off 15 contributed 62 runs to help REYS post a total of 156 for 6 wickets as they were asked to bat first.

For KCC, Robertson returned with the best bowling figures of 3/31 .

KCC then ended up scoring 116/8 in the chase despite K Sanjit's 21-ball 34 and S Sanjoy's 29-ball 25 as Momo (2/30) and S Jayenta (2/16) led the frugal bowling attack for REYS.

Rajesh of REYS was adjudged player of the match.

Later in the second quarterfinal match, TCMDC outlasted LCCC, Lilong Chajing by 35 runs to seal the second semi-final ticket.

TCMDC amassed 193/6 after electing to bat first as Th Tarun 46 not out, Ningthoujam Sanjit 38, S Rakesh 29, Oinam Gulshannanda 24 and L Krishna 20 led the scoring in an innings that saw Sanjit (3/28) and Sagolsem Kison (2/34) sharing 5 wickets for LCCC.

LCCC slumped to 158/9 in the chase despite Shahjahan scoring 86 off 45 balls as Damen (3/30), Brajakumar (2/35) and Somorjit (2/7) shared 7 wickets for TCMDC.

Damen Karam was adjudged player of the match.
