Imphal, August 30 2025: Y Purnachandra of Thoubal clinched the U-19 Boys' singles crown in the 3 7th Inter Club and State Open Ranking Table Tennis Championship being underway at Indoor Stadium, DM University Campus.

Y Purnachandra overcame Ksh Nelson of Imphal East by 4-2 sets in the final clash today to seal the top honour.

Purnachandra got off to a flying start and secured the two sets before faltering in the third and fourth sets.

He however made a comeback in the following sets and came out 11-5, 11-1, 5-11, 8-11, 14-12, 12-10 winners.

Ningombam Riya of Thoubal in the meantime earned the U-19 girls' singles title by handing Elangbam Nikita of Imphal West by 4-3 sets in the keenly contested final clash.

Riya Ningombam had to fight back thrice after conceding the first set before coming out 13-15, 16-14, 10-12, 13-11, 9-11, 11-8, 11-7 winners against spirited Elangbam Nikita in the title clash today.

Rajkumar Athoiba in the meantime sealed the U-11 boys singles crown by defeating Laishram Sisil of Kakching by 3-2 sets in the final.

Athoiba lost the 1st and the 3rd sets but fought back valiantly in the following sets to see out the game 4-11, 11-3, 4-11, 11-3, 11-8 .

Thokchom Bincy of Imphal West on the other hand claimed the U-11 girls' singles title by handing a 3-1 sets defeat to H Malemnganbi of Thoubal.

Bincy conceded the first set, but staged a remarkable comeback to seal a 7-11, 11-7, 11-8, 11-5 win.
