AMTA distributes certificates, celebrates NSD

Imphal, August 29 2026: The All Manipur Taekwondo Association today distributed certificates to the participants as the State Coach License Course concluded and joined in celebrating the National Sports Day (NSD) 2026 as celebrated across the country.

The programme was attended by M Veto, Director YAS; Thokchom Jasobanta, president AMTA; Th Mangichand, Deputy Director YAS; Hijam Hemjit, DYASO Imphal East; M Deven, DYASO, Thoubal; Birendra, DYASO, Chandel; Muhindro, DYASO, Kamjong and Ng Sunita, DYASO, Kakching as presidium members.

The dignitaries and others present paid floral tribute to hockey wizard Major Dhyan Chand who led India to three Summer Olympic gold medals back to back in 1928 (Amsterdam), 1932 (Los Angeles), and 1936 (Berlin) .

The speakers dwelled on the life and work of Major Dhyan Chand, who joined army at the age of 16 in 1922 and scored around 400 goals in 185 matches of his glorious career.

They also spoke and the significance of the observance and relevance in day to day life.
