Imphal, October 27 2024: Naorem Birahari College (NBC), Biramangol College (BMC), CI College (CIC) and hosts Kha Manipur College (KMC) entered the quarterfinals of the Ayekpam Pratap Singh Memorial Manipur University Inter College Men's Football Tournament 2024-25 with comfortable last-16 round victories today.

In the first pre-quarterfinal match of the 34-team tournament NBC romped 4-0 past Nambol L Sanoi College thanks to second half goals.

The two sides held off one another in the opening half before M David opened the scoring in the 46th minute at Kha Manipur College playground.

H Kelvin doubled the advantage in the 57th minute before T Brucelee further extended the lead to 3-0 after 60 minutes and M Ajitson scored the decisive goal in the 67th minute.

In the second pre-quarterfinal match, BMC rode on goals from N Bigyananda (53') and W Abhinash (68') to knock out Modern College to set up a quarterfinal date with NBC.

In the third pre-quarterfinal match, CI College edged out Western College by 3-1 goals to book a quarterfinal ticket.

O Amarjit (30') and Kh Jebison (35+2') scored to give CIC a 2-0 first half lead before Joychand halved the deficit for Western College with a 62nd minute strike.

L Rahul regained the two goal advantage for CIC in the 68th minute and the scoreline remained unchanged till the final whistle.

Later in the fourth pre-quarterfinal match, K Romen scored twice to help hosts KMC pull off a 3-1 win over Liberal College and set up a quarterfinal date with CIC.

K Romen (15') and Md Samir (27') scored to hand KMC a 2-0 first half lead before N Telheiba pulled back a goal for Liberal College in the 38th minute.

K Romen bounced again to score his second in the 46th minute and set up the 3-1 victory.
