Kakching 2nd Divn Football League : 10-man PFC beat SRDC to finish third

Imphal, July 27 2024: PFC, Tokpaching finished third in the 2nd Division Football League Tournament organised by the District Sports Association, Kakching as they beat SRDC, Kakching by 2-1 goals at DSA Kakching ground this afternoon.

Both PFC and SRDC started positively stringing a series of runs against one another in search of the lead and the deadlock was broken after 27 minutes when Devaraj made the most of a penalty for SRDC.

The lead however did not last long as hardworking PFC drew level through Chinglensana in the 34th minute before his compatriot H Manithoi overturned the lead 6 minutes later.

After the restart, S Chinglensana picked up a yellow card in the 50th minute before being sent off with a second yellow in the 69th minute thereby reducing PFC to 10-man.Despite enjoying numerical superiority, SRDC failed to make their way into the game as PFC defence produced exemplary performances to ward off all threats with ease.

UCC, Kakching will play KYWAC, Wabagai in the title clash of the 9-team tournament tomorrow.
