N Hazari and Dr N Tombi State Polo : Nongpok Apunba Sagol Kangjei Lup edge out Universal PC-A 6-5

Imphal, October 26 2025: Nongpok Apunba Sagol Kangjei Lup edged out Universal PC-A by 6-5 goals in a keenly contested match of the 38th N Hazari and Dr N Tombi State Polo Tournament being underway at Mapal Kangjeibung.

In the 17th match of the tournament staged this afternoon, Nongpok Apunba Sagol Kangjei Lup scored a goal each in the four chukkers to play out a 4-4 draw before securing the win in the fifth chukker.

P Abung scored thrice in the second and third chukker to give Universal PC-A 5-4 advantage after three chukkers but P Premjit drew level in the B Shantikumar Sharma drew level in the fourth chukker with a solitary goal before scoring the winner in the fifth chukker.

Earlier, K Premkumar scored three goals in the first two chukkers to keep Nongpok Apunba Sagol Kangjei Lup in contention as P Premjit added one.

Th Tiken and M Bilam also found the target for Universal PC.

Later in the day, Assam Rifles Polo Team-A rode on S Bon Bon to knock out Imphal Riding Club-B by 15-0 goals.

Bon Bon struck 7 goals alone in the team's victory as M Kuber assisted with five goals and Riyakat Ali added thrice.

L Joykumar meanwhile chipped in a goal to make it 15-0 .

Tentha Polo Club also advanced to the next stage of the tournament with a 14-0 demolition of Universal PC-C later in the day.

W Priyokumar and S Naoba scored five goals apiece to set up the huge win for Tentha Polo Club today as S Priyo scored twice and M Ropen and N Abhishek added a goal apiece.
