Six singles titles were decided on the third day of the 68th State Open Badminton Championships 2024 underway at MBA Indoor Stadium, DM University Campus.
Rishav Ngangom (BDBA), Leonie Tayenjam (IWDBA), Dylan P Thokchom (IWDBA), Chanulembi Sapam (IWDBA), Shannon Loitongbam (IWDBA) and Sarungbam Archana Devi (IEDBA) triumphed in their respective final matches.
Rishav Ngangom registered a 22-20 21-16 win over Lourembam Thoungam Singh (IWDBA) to clinch the U19 boys' singles event title.
Leonie Tayenjam won the U19 girls' singles event after Konsam Gunjan Devi (IEDBA) retired hurt during their summit clash.
Leonie was leading 21-14 11-5 when her opponent pulled out due to injury.
In the U15 boys' singles final, Dylan P Thokchom defeated Lairenmayum Luwangamba (IWDBA) 23-21 21-7 .
The U15 girls' singles final saw Chanulembi Sapam comfortably beat Rekispa Soubam (TDBA) 21-7 21-10 for her title.
In the U11 singles competition, Shannon Loitongbam got the better of Nameirakpam Devasis (IWDBA) 21-10 21-9 to secure the boys' title, while Sarungbam Archana claimed the girls' crown after defeating Bebina Thingbaijam (BDBA) 21-11 21-5 in their final match.
