State Youth Basketball C'ships : LMYVA boys top Group A with 63-57 beating of BDBA

Imphal, September 25 2026: LMYVA registered a hardfought 63-57 win over BDBA to complete the Group A league stage sweeping in the boys' competition of the 29th State Youth Basketball Championship 2026 .

Kh Chouba (14 pts), Malemson (13 pts) and Woyipen Chithung (10 pts) led the scoring in LMYVA's victory today as Satish (9 pts), Anderson (9 pts) and Th Thoungamba (8 pts) contributed the rest.

Suryajit (17 pts) meanwhile top-scored for BDBA. In another Group A match, Model Club beat CYLC 50-38 for their third win in four matches and to finish Group A runners up.

Sotin shone with the game-high 21 points riding on a trey as Gison made a major contribution of 18 points.

Lanchenba (5 pts), Chungsubamba (4 pts) and Yohenba (2 pts) also scored for Model Club.

For CYLC, Ashish scored 16 points as Algison scored 12 points, Korou scored 7 points and Rex scored 3 points.

In the Group B matches staged in the morning, ESU and YOSC registered their third wins on trot.

ESU completed their treble of wins by handing YWC a 50-32 defeat riding on major contributions from Prince (19 pts), Th Jinit (11 pts) and Chingchen (10 pts) .

Milkan (4 pts), Garry (2 pts), Satish (2 pts) and Robinhood (2 pts) were also on target for ESU as Chourajit (15 pts) led the scoring for YWC .

YOSC meanwhile pulled off a 64-31 win over Youth Club riding on leading performances from L Kelvin (24 pts), N Ricky (15 pts), M Phirepa (13 pts) .

N Lanchenba (6 pts), L Lanchenba (4 pts) and N Alex (2 pts) also shared 12 points for the winners as Tonshan (11 pts), Iribanta (7 pts), Bigyans (7 pts), Madrid (4 pts) and Lanchenba (2 pts) found their names on the scoresheet for Youth Club.

LMYVA beat NETA to end 2-game losing run in girls' competition

Earlier in a morning clash for girls, LMYVA beat NETA 21-7 for their first win in three matches.

S Priya led the scoring with 8 points including a trey for the winners as M Minanda scored 7 points, P Shreeya scored 4 points and N Merinda scored 2 points.

Ch Abembem scored 4 points for NETA as Ch Lamnganbi added 2 points and Ng Lingjelthoibi managed one off a free throw.
