Bpr 1st Division Football League : UFC beat TYDA 2-1 in top of table contest, both qualify for semis

Imphal, September 23 2025: UFC, Bishnupur ended TYDA, Toubul's three game winning streak by handing a 2-1 defeat and topped the Group A table in the ongoing 1st Yumnam Manao Memorial 1st Division Football League 2025 .

Despite the loss, the Toubul side finished Group A runners up on 9 points from 4 matches as UFC sealed the top spot on 10 points.

By virtue of their top two finish, UFC and TYDA qualified for the semi-finals.

Guankinlung continued his fine run in the tournament and scored his seventh goal of the tournament in the 23rd minute to give UFC the headway before Sairem Shaimon doubled the advantage in the 33rd minute.

TYDA, who had suffered two straight losses earlier, pulled back a goal in the 74th minute through Tomthin but they failed to sustain their momentum and eventually slumped to their third loss.

Earlier in the day, WYC, Yumnam Khunou capped their Group A campaign with a 9-1 thrashing of BFA, Nachou.

S Simran (24', 31') and N Suraj (48', 54') contributed two goals apiece for WYC as Th Malemnganba (19'), N Sanathoi (34'), N Jackson (35'), L Khambaton (64') and M Bikram (67') added a goal apiece.

Y Santosh scored the only goal for BFA, Nachou in the 56th minute.

BFA will play Ishok FC in a dead rubber match tomorrow.
