Asufii FA brush aside SU in 2nd Premier League

Imphal, July 23 2025: Asufii FA delivered a commanding performance on Wednesday, cruising to a comprehensive 5-0 victory over Sagolband United in the 2nd Premier League 202526 at Artificial Turf Ground, Lamlong Thongkhong.

Asufii asserted their dominance from the outset, leaving their opponents with little room to respond.

They wasted no time in taking control as P Sorormi Thingsang opened floodgates with a 10th-minute goal, setting the tone for the match.

Md Nawaz Sharif then doubled Asufii's advantage in the 38th minute, sending them into halftime with a comfortable two-goal cushion.

After the break, Asufii picked up where they left off, with Suraibo Newmai adding a third in the 68th minute to further extend their lead.

The star of the second half, however, was Salam Swamichandra Meitei, who put the finishing touches on a stellar team performance with a well-taken brace.

Swaminchandra first found the net in the 71st minute before completing his double just seven minutes later, sealing an emphatic 5-0 triumph for Asufii FA.

In the day's other fixture, Athletic Brother's Association and Angtha FC played out a tightly contested but ultimately goalless draw, with neither side able to break the deadlock despite their efforts.
