1st NE Little Masters Trophy 2025 : Manipur slump to 10-wicket loss against Tripura

Manipur suffered a forgettable 10-wicket loss to Tripura in the second Group B match of the ongoing 1st NE Litter Masters Trophy 2025 for U-14 boys today at ACA Stadium Ground, Barsapara, Guwahati.
Put in to bat first, Manipur faced stiff opposition from the Tripura bowlers and slumped to a meagre total of 136 runs in 38.5 overs.
Tripura then chased down the target with Sriman Debnath and Shresthangshu Deb producing an unbeaten first wicket partnership of 139 runs in 36.2 overs.
Chabungbam Tyrus played a key role in Manipur batting and scored a fighting 66-ball 39 to take Manipur past 100-run even as wickets on the other end kept tumbling.
After Tyrus' departure at 103 for the 6th wicket, Kh Firdos also made 32 off 44 to help Manipur post 136 .
Rihan Akter (5/22 in 7.5 overs) of Tripura emerged the destroyer in chief in this innings picking 5 wickets including both Tyrus and Kh Firdos while Tushar Malakar, Sriman Debnath, Anuj Dey and Bihan Das chipped in with a wicket apiece.
In reply, both the openers- Shresthangshu (103-ball 62; 11 fours) and Sriman (115-ball 63; 9 fours) batted sensibly and completed slow but half centuries to steer Tripura to winning 139 in 36.2 overs.
Although State bowlers failed to find the breakthrough, all of the 7 bowlers produced economical bowling performances with Farhan Ahmed (2.20), Kh Firdos (2.25) and N Lamnganba (2.45) leading the chart.
Sriman Debnath of Tripura who shone with both the bat and ball was adjudged player of the match.
