NYPC earn Tbl 3rd Division Football league title

Imphal, September 18 2019: NYPC, Thoubal Ningombam earned a huge 5-0 win against UMFC, Thoubal Moijing to ensure the title of the Third Division Football League tournament organised by District Football Association Thoubal at Chaoyaima Higher Secondary School playground.

The win helped NYPC earn 7 points in the league tournament participated by 4 teams while REFA, Thoubal Leishangthem finished second with 4 points from 1 win and 1 draw in three matches.

Last day matches
REFA earned the only win in the tournament thrashing CITYC, Heirok today by 4-1 goals.

REFA's L Anand opened up the scoring in the 19th minute after exchanging few runs on both ends, only to be equalised by K Deny of CITYC two minutes latter.

Th Ningthouba however broke the deadlock in the 26th minute and helped REFA enter into the break with a 2-1 lead.

Th Ningthouba picked up the game from where they left and banged in his second in the 44th minute before his team mate K Naobi rounded off the scoring in the 53rd minute of the match.

Meanwhile in the last match of the tournament, NYPC overwhelmed UMFC 5-0 as Donaldo hit a second half brace.

Vikash hit the first goal for the winning side in the 6th minute while his team mates Rajkumarjit and Dibeskumar carried on the momentum scoring a goal respectively in the 18th and the 31st minute to make it 3-0 till the break.

Donaldo then extended the lead to 4-0 in the 50th minute before striking home the final nail three minutes latter.
