Imphal, September 18 2017: SC Leatherite and Zeal FC shared one apiece after they were tied 2-2 while BYC overwhelmed Khallai FC 5-1 today in the ongoing Khaikhanlian Memorial District 1st Division league matches at Peace Ground, Tuibong .

In the first encounter, Zeal FC scored twice in the first half while SC Leatherite scored twice in the later half and settled for a 2-2 draw .

Jonathan Lalremruot handed the lead to Zeal FC in the 9th minute while Nelson Hmar doubled the lead in the 37th minute.

SC Leatherite could not change the script even as they scurried to find the equaliser in the first half .

However, the second session saw SC Leatherite intensifying their attack after making five changes.

Their relentless efforts yielded positive result when Hemkhoson found the back of the net in the 51st minute to make it 2-1 .

The consistent efforts of SC Leatherite paid dividends again when Thangcha equalised the score in the 61st minute .

Zeal FC made three changes in the second session, but they failed to influence the script .

Even as both sides showed all eagerness to break the deadlock, their efforts went abegging and settled for 2-2 .

In another encounter, Bungmual YC drubbed Khallai FC 5-1 to earn their first full points .

Right from the first whistle, BYC were in command of the match.

Liansonmung handed an early lead to BYC as he struck a fine goal in the 3rd minute .

After a goal down, Khallai FC pulled up their strength and denied their rivals’ forwards to make any further inroads into their citadel.

The first half ended with the BYC’s 1-0 lead intact.

BYC escalated their attacks in the second half and managed to extend their lead in the first minute as Khamkhanlun was bang on target.

After much efforts, Langkhatlian pulled one back for Khallai FC before Khamkhanlun scored his second goal in the 56th minute .

Later, Khamlianmang and Thangmuansang took turn to score a goal each in the 63rd and 83rd minute respectively to hand a comprehensive 5-1 victory to BYC .

M Songgel YC face Neihsiel Veng YC tomorrow at 12.30 pm while Ganggam Soccer Club and Taqchapa FC lock horns at 3 pm.
