Two-day Thang-Ta Teachers' Workshop 2025 underway

Imphal, August 16 2025: A two-day Thang-Ta Teachers' Workshop 2025, organised by the Huyel Lan-glon Thang-Ta Association, commenced on Saturday at Thang-Ta Maheikol, Yumnam Huidrom Makha Leikai.

The inaugural programme was led by Huidrom Premkumar, president of the Association, with participation from teachers and instructors drawn from schools across Manipur's districts, including Bishnupur, Imphal West, Imphal East, and Thoubal.

Around 30 Thang-Ta teachers and instructors are attending the workshop.

During the event, speakers highlighted how Thang-Ta has already been introduced as a subject in schools from Class IX to XII, as well as at the university level from undergraduate to postgraduate courses.

Organisers expressed confidence that the workshop will contribute significantly towards developing a more systematic approach to teaching and expanding the martial art's role in academic and cultural education.
