CHAMP, Model Club emerge victorious in 12th Manipur Veteran T20 Cricket

Imphal, February 15 2025: CHAMP, Khagempalli and Model Club, Chingamakha emerged victorious in today's matches of the ongoing 12th Manipur Veteran T-20 Cricket Tournament at Langthabal Public Ground.

In the Group C match staged this morning, CHAMP extended their winning run to two games by beating YUCC, Kwakeithel Moirangpurel by 32 runs.

CHAMP were restricted to 126/9 after they won the toss and elected to bat first but bowled out YUCC to 94 all out in 17.5 overs to earn the 32-run victory.

Ratan 33, Geet Lairenjam 20 and S John 17 topscored for CHAMP in the first innings that saw T Mani (3/14) and Md Noushad (2/20) sharing 5 wickets.

In reply, Doren 18, Bidison 16 and Rick 14 led the scoring for YUCC as CHAMP's Tomthang (4/16), Nanao (3/22) and John (2/5) shared 9 wickets between them.

Tomthang of CHAMP was eventually adjudged man of the match.

Later in a Group D match, Model Club amassed 185 runs for 1 wickets thanks to Mujibur Rahman's unbeaten 110 off 63 balls and S Sunil's 41-ball 54 before bowling out LCC for 137 runs in 19.2 overs riding on Saratchandra's four wicket haul (4/28 in 4 overs) .

L Morning 31 and Y Dutta 22 were the leading run scorers for LCC in the second innings which also saw Devan (2/16) and Mujibur (2/9) sharing four wickets for Model Club.

Syed Mujibur Rahman who scored an unbeaten ton and picked two wickets was declared man of the match.
