SAI-RC win women football tournament organised by F/169 Bn CRPF

Imphal, September 14 2026:
SAI-RC were crowned the champions of the women's football tournament organised by F/169 Bn CRPF at Keibi Kumuda, Imphal East under the SPANDAN (Sports for Peace and Development Across the Nation) initiative.
The final match saw Malemnganbi (6') and Tabitha (30') scoring a goal apiece to set up the 2-1 win for SAI-RC against ESU .
For ESU, Priyanka scored in the 49th minute but they failed to mount their way back and force a draw.

As SAI-RC and ESU made the 1-2 finishes, YWC-Th sealed the third place title.
The tournament was formally closed in the presence of Suresh Kumar, Commandant 169 Bn CRPF; Shabir Hussain, Deputy Commandant; Dr Nashrun Khatun, Assistant Commandant; Ibotombi, technical director AMFA and other as dignitaries.
YWC-L emerge winners
Meanwhile the women's football tournament organised by G/87 Bn CRPF at GC, CRPF Imphal, Langjing concluded yesterday with YWC-L as the champions.
YWC-L defeated KRYPHSA for the top honours as SAI Club finished third.
The podium finishers were feted with a cash prize of Rs 10,000; Rs 6,000 and Rs 4,000 respectively, said a press release issued by Officer Commanding G/87 Bn CRPF .
The closing ceremony of the three day tournament was attended by N Kunjarani Devi, former Commandant and legendary weightlifter and other distinguished guests.
Men's Football Tournament at Maklang ends
The day also saw the culmination of the men's open football tournament hosted by 120 Bn CRPF at Maklang football ground under the SPANDAN initiative in collaboration with Sports Authority of India.
In the 12 team tournament, Ngairangbam FC, Sangaithel B and Maklang Team made the podium finishes and were feted with a cash prize of Rs 10,000; Rs 6,000 and Rs 4,000 respectively.
Th Lemba of Ngairangbam FC was also adjudged as best player of the tournament.
