Ukhrul eves shine at bodybuilding champ

Ukhrul, August 13 2025: Three women athletes from Ukhrul district secured top positions in the Open Women's Bodybuilding Championship held as part of the 11th Mr Khamba Championship 2025 on Wednesday in Kakching district.

Phila Yangya from Paorei Village clinched second place, while her fellow villagers, Chingmila Hongchui and Thashim Pheirei, finished third and fourth, respectively, according to the Body Builders' Association of Ukhrul District (BBAUD) .

All three athletes represented Ukhrul district under the auspices of BBAUD.

They were trained rigorously under the expert guidance of L Robert Meitei at the Royal Gymnasium Ukhrul, honing their skills and preparing for this prestigious competition.

BBAUD president Thot-mayo Luithui expressed his pride in their achievements, stating, "These athletes have shown exceptional dedication and talent.

We are incredibly proud to have them represent our district" .
