Manipur Police felicitates Commonwealth Games 2026 medallists

Manipur Police today accorded a warm felicitation to distinguished sportspersons of the State who brought laurels to the National by winning medals at the recently concluded Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games.
The athletes who were felicitated in a solemn function held at Police Headquarters, Mantripukhri include Jadumani Singh Mandengbam, who won a silver medal in men's boxing (55 kg), Chanambam Rishikanta, who won a silver medal in men's 60 kg category weightlifting and Bindyarani Devi Soirokhaibam, who bagged a bronze medal in the women's 58 kg category weightlifting.
Bouquets and lengyans were presented to the medallists during the reception event that was followed by an interaction programme during which the athletes shared their inspiring journeys, challenges, and experiences at the Commonwealth Games.
Their achievements have brought immense pride to Manipur and have once again highlighted the State's rich sporting legacy.
Addressing the gathering, Mukesh Singh, IPS, DGP Manipur, congratulated the athletes on their outstanding accomplishments and commended their dedication, perseverance, and commitment to excellence.
He stated that their success serves as a source of inspiration for the youth of Manipur and the personnel of Manipur Police alike.
As a mark of appreciation and recognition, the DGP presented tokens of honour to the athletes.
The programme concluded with light refreshments and informal interaction.
Manipur Police further extended its heartfelt congratulations to the medallists and wished them continued success in their future sporting endeavours.
