SSU beat Sang-gai Heroes 2-1 as 3rd Premier League kicks off

Imphal, October 05 2025: Southern Sporting Union (SSU), Singjamei edged past Sang-gai Heroes (SGH) 2-1 in the opening match of the 3 rd edition of Premier League at SAI ground, Takyel.

The 15-team league tournament is organised by the All Manipur Football Association.

SGH enjoyed a slender 1-0 first half lead but things turned around in the second half as SSU ramped up their attack and two successive goals were more than enough for them to walk away with all three points.

Konthoujam Donel was on target for SGH in the 10th minute to take the game on their head before Konthoujam Monex put SSU back into contention by scoring the equaliser at the stroke of the hour mark.

Robert Usham further extended the celebration by scoring the winner the very next minute.

The opening match was witnessed by around 1000 spectators.

IYFC vs AFC from 1 pm
AIM vs SSC from 3 pm .
