Imphal, July 02 2025: The 2nd Thongam Ibetombi Devi Memorial Non-State Badminton Tournament 2025 commenced from Wednesday at Manipur Badminton Association MBA) Indoor Stadium, DMU campus.

The opening function of the four-day tournament, being participated by 300 players from various districts, was held with MBA president and Thongju MLA Th Biswajit, Patsoi MLA Sapam Kunjakeswor alias Keba, MBA senior vice president Guruaribam Chittaranjan, secretary Hajarimayum Sanjeev and other executive members.

On the opening day, Henry, Joychandra, Dillu Sharma, Shanrei, Malemnganba and Tabio defeated their respective opponents in men's singles competition, while Herikkis, Shilheiba, Hercules, Ahenthoi, Nongal, Narajit, Diamond and Yaic-henba won their U-11 boys' singles matches, as Bishal, Ringthuisoh, Mangal, Kelvin, Irabanta, Basilio, Dhanaraj, Rendison, Mangalsana, Nongleikhomba, Ahenthoi, Ashengyangba, Henthoiba, Vyas, Shinthangamba, Jupiter and Telheiba advanced to the second round in U-13 boys' singles.

In the U-15 boys' singles matches, Ronaldo, Prince, Bidyananda, Rajnath, Jupiter, Thoihenba, Rendison, Swan Sharma, Satya Sharma, Nongpoknganba and Kelvin defeated their respective opponents.
