KVWA boys, girls capture State handball titles

Imphal, March 02 2025: KVWA's boys and girls emerged as champions of the 36th State-Level Mini Boys & Girls Handball Tournament after securing decisive victories in their respective finals at CYCL Ground, Singjamei Chingamathak, on Sunday.

In the boys' final, KVWA delivered a commanding 36-17 victory over OYO.

Lanchenba spearheaded the attack with an impressive 15-goal haul, while Th Malemthoiba and S Wilson contributed seven goals each.

H Malemnganba and Th Mathoi added three goals apiece, and W Gingdon rounded off the tally with one, securing KVWA's emphatic title win.

For OYO, Ksh Yaithoiba was the standout performer, netting 10 goals.

Meanwhile, in the girls' final, KVWA clinched the title with a comfortable 17-9 win against KKLYDO.

H Naobi and Ng Jeenybala led the charge, scoring seven and six goals, respectively.

Th Likla added two, while Th Lanchenbi and Th Mathoi each found the net once.

On the opposing side, N Dolly top-scored for KKLYDO with five goals, Th Krishtina struck twice, and Athemphu and Th Balika contributed a goal each.

Several players were recognised for their outstanding performances.

OYO's Yaithoiba Ksh was awarded the boys' top scorer title, while KKLYDO's N Dolly claimed the girls' top scorer accolade.

KVWA's S Wilson was named the boys' best player, with KKLYDO's Th Khristina receiving the equivalent honour in the girls' category.

KVWA's H Malemnganba and SSC's S Rinabai were recognised as the best goalkeepers in the boys' and girls' events, respectively.

Additionally, ESU boys and SROY girls were commended for their sportsmanship, receiving the award for best-disciplined teams.
