Youth Welfare Union (YWU) ended Sena Athletes Organisation's (SAO) three-game winning run in the ongoing 21st Ksh Leihao Devi Memorial Super Division Football League Tournament with a 4-1 thrashing this afternoon at DSA Kakching playground.
YWU who have won twice in three previous games, dominated the game from the word go and took a 2-0 comfortable lead before adding two more goals in the second half.
I Priyobarta opened the scoring for YWC in the 34th minute of the match having missed few earlier chances.
They continued to press for more goals and eventually found their seven minutes into the added time before the break courtesy of Ksh Kanta.
After trailing behind by two goals, SAO put more effort after the restart and pulled back a goal through S Ashokumar in the 53rd minute.
They kept looking for gaps in their bid to cut the gap but as the game wore on, YWU looked more threatening and eventually grabbed their third through Th Tomba in the 89th minute before Jetlee had his way to hit the final nail to the coffin 5 minutes into the stoppage time.
Later in the second match, Th Yaiphaba scored a brace to inspire SWC-Keirak an emphatic 4-0 win over UBSA, Mantak.
Kh Rajnikanta broke the deadlock early in the 6th minute before Th Yaiphaba scored back to back in the 10th and the 44 minutes to make it 3-0 before half time.
S Malemnganba then rounded off the scoring late in the 82nd minute as UBSA failed to convert their chances.
LYA, Wangoo will play KMSWC, Keirak in the next match on June 28 from 12.30 pm before SWC-Waikhong meet LMLCC, Langmeidong from 2.30 pm .
