12th Manipur Veteran T-20 Cricket : REYS end CYCLONE's three-game winning run, both qualify for quarters

Imphal, February 24 2025:
REYS, Nagamapal interrupted CYCLONE, Thangmeiband's three game winning run by handing a 7-run loss in a Group A competition of the 12th Manipur Veteran T-20 Cricket Tournament.
REYS, having lost once in three previous games, posted a competitive total of 183 runs for 4 wickets after electing to bat first and bowled out red hot CYCLONE, who have won all three previous games, for 176 runs to seal their third win.
With the result, both REYS and CYCLONE finished their group stage with three wins and eventually both qualified for the quarterfinals.

For REYS, Boicha scored an unbeaten 58 off 34 balls after S Jayenta 34, Kenny Ngairangbam 37 and Dhaneshor 24 set up the momentum.
The innings saw Lamnganba of CYCLONE pick two wickets (2/35) as Tarun and Surajchandra claimed a wicket apiece.
For CYCLONE, Arun added a quickfire 50 off 27 balls after Usham Robinson 44 and Tarun 36 gave the team a promising start.
Kenny was at the forefront of the REYS bowling attack in this innings and returned with the best bowling figures of 4/39 in 4 overs while S Jayenta (3/24) and Momo (2/32) shared 5 wickets.
Kenny who produced an allround show was adjudged man of the match.
Earlier in a Group C match, YUCC erected 154 for all wickets down before bowling out 9-man BKCC, Bamon Kampu to 100 in 15.2 overs to end their group campaign with a win.
Md Noushad 49, Risk 31 and P Bidison 27 led the scoring for YUCC after they elected to bat first.
T Lenin (2/21), Prabinkumar (2/29), Bocha (2/38) and Sushil (2/24) all picked two wickets for BKCC before T Lenin 33 and Wairokpam Prabinkumar 23 led the chase in a lost cause.
Md Noushad Ali returned with the best bowling figures of 3/18 for YUCC as Athokpam Himat, P Bidison, Nishi Chongtham and Sibananda chipped in with a wicket apiece.
Md Noushad who starred with both the bat and ball was adjudged player of the match.
NAPSA, Kha Imphal will play TCMDC, Thongju in the next match tomorrow before BSC-B take on ESU Wangkhei later in the day.
