9th MNCA Plate Tournament : NAPSA, KSDO script fifth straight victories

Imphal, December 22 2024:
NAPSA, Kha Imphal and KSDO, Kyamgei maintained perfect winning runs in Group A and B competitions of the ongoing 9th Plate Tournament as both the teams posted their fifth victories on the trot today.
Albert Sorokhaibam hit a half century (54 off 48) and picked two wickets (2/28 in 7 overs) to hand NAPSA a 52 run victory over YWC, Patsoi at Khangabok Cherapur Public Ground and eventually sealed the player of the match trophy.

Put in to bat first, a fifty from Albert and 32 from L Monjit took NAPSA to 187 before being bowled out in 30.1 overs as Laikhuram Jagat (3/29) and Tongbram Donadoni (2/27) led the bowling attack for YWC.
YWC however collapsed their chase at 135 in 27 overs despite Shitaljit Wangkhem's 25-ball 57 as Heisnam Boney (3/36), Tongbram Donadoni (2/22) and S Albert (2/28) rattled their line up with ease.
Elsewhere at Lairenjam Public Ground, KSDO notched up a 130-run victory against SDC, Laipham Khunou for the fifth Group B victory thanks to Abdul Rafique's unbeaten ton.
Abdul Rafique clobbered 11 fours on the way to his brilliant 87-ball 105 as Md Washim scored a 43-ball 53, Nawaz Sharif added 47 off 48 and Md Shah Jahan was unbeaten on 33 as KSDO erected a huge total of 265 runs for 6 wickets in 35 overs after opting to bat first.
N Rajiv of SDC managed highest three wickets but conceded 65 runs in his spell of 7 overs as Krishnakanta Ngangkham (2/41) and Donny (1/22) shared three wickets.
10-man SDC however slumped to 135/9 in 34.3 overs as Lakimbur (3/10 in 7 overs) and Khushru Pravez (3/19) led the KSDO bowling attack.
Three other bowlers also picked a wicket apiece in this innings that saw N Rajiv topscoring with 27 runs to his name.
Abdul Rafique was eventually adjudged player of the match.
