YSWA, RAU extend unbeaten run in 2nd Premier League 2025-26

Imphal, May 22 2025: Youth Social Welfare Association (YSWA), Utlou and Rising Athletic Union (RAU), Lamlong Thongkhong held their respective rivals to draws to extend their unbeaten run in the 2nd Premier League 2025-26 at Artificial Turf Ground, Lamlong Thongkhong yesterday.

In a Group B match, Kshetri Iril Mapal Youth Club (KIYC), Kshetri Awang enjoyed a slender 1-0 first half lead against YSWA courtesy of Yumnam Monis Singh's 17th minute strike.

KIYC, who notched up a 3-0 win in the previous match against NISA after two losses in the three previous games, almost looked to seal all three points but YSWA shattered their hopes as Laithangbam Jackson netted the equaliser two minutes away from time.

The two sides had 7 more injury-time minutes but could not find the difference and eventually ended up sharing a point apiece.

Later in the day, RAU, who had posted a win and two draws in the three previous games, extended their unbeaten run in the Group A competition by salvaging a 2-2 draw against Athletic Brother's Association (ABA), Kshetrigao.

The two sides started cautiously but ABA led the first half thanks to Md Aruwas Khan's 30th minute strike before RAU drew level through Ngangom Jiten in the 48th minute.

ABA regained the lead after 78 minutes as Ningthoujam Dhanaraj only to be cancelled by Leishising Tallanao in the 87th minute for RAU.

It was also the third draw for ABA in five games.

The team had won 1-0 against WAFA in the opening match and suffered a 0-3 loss to FC Raengdai in their third match.
