State Level JN Hockey Tournament kicks off

Imphal, August 21 2024:
Three teams registered wins as the State Level JN Hockey Tournament 2024 for U-15 boys & U-17 boys and girls got underway at Khuman Lampak Hockey Stadium on Wednesday.
Five Star English High School (Thoubal) eased to a 4-0 victory over Jai Hind High School (Mantripukhri, Imphal East) in the U-17 girls' competition.
The Thoubal side romped to a 2-0 lead in the first quarter courtesy of M Linthoi and Ng Langlen.
Then H Daina Chanu tripled their lead in the second quarter before Ng Nevidita Chanu made it 4-0 in the third quarter to wrap up the win.
In the boys' U-17 group, Lalpani Govt High School (Jiribam) started their campaign with a 10-1 hammering of Jai Hind High School (Mantripukhri, Imphal East) .
Rakesh Babu Ch led the rout, scoring four goals for the Jiribam squad, while Bidy-ananda Singh and K Sanjit Singh netted a double apiece, with W Derish Singh and Don Ngasepam contributing one each in their emphatic triumph.
Imphal East scored their consolation goal through Kh Aryan.
Iramdam Maheikol (Langmeidong, Kakching) got the better of Jai Hind High School Mantripukhri (Imphal East) by a 5-3 margin in the opening match of the U-15 boys' category.
A double from Arison Akhoijam and one each from A Rohit, Kafor Kasar and K Dhinaraj sealed the victory for the Kakching boys.
The Imphal East boys scored through W Indrew, Toresh Y and S Josh Singh.
