Winners' Cup: Kison double fires XI Star SU into last 4 stage

Imphal, December 20 2021: XI Star SU rode on Kison double to seal a 3-1 away victory against HYC, Chandel at Mini Sports Complex Chandel and earn a 6-2 aggregate finish to move into the last four stage of the ongoing 25th Thangjam Birachandra-Maipakpi Memorial Winners' Cup 2021-22 .

XI Star SU who were 3-1 winners in their home match staged at Artificial Turf, Lamlong Thongkhong, carried forward their momentum and were 3-0 ahead till the break before TS Warkham pulled back a goal in the 47th minute.

Y Kison found the breakthrough in the 15th minute and N Santanu made it 2-0 for the Akampat team four minutes later as the Chandel team failed to find their composure.

Y Kison then grabbed his second and team's penultimate goal during the added time of the first half (45+3') .

XI-Star SU will face either KSC, Kangpokpi or ASSA, Thoubal in the last four stage (double-legged) .

GSYC, Lonpi will host ZLYC, Churachandpur tomorrow at MAYWO playground, Lonpi.
