Gold rush for UTA on Day 3 of 18th Governor's Taekwondo Cup 2025

Imphal, July 19 2025: UTA athletes shone on Day 3 of the 18th Governor's Taekwondo Cup 2025, winning four out of the five gold medals up for grabs in the sub-junior boys' events.

In the sub-junior boys U-50 kg category, Samson Nongthombam outdid M Karlos (KTA) in the final to take home the gold medal, while Chingakham Lionadro (RTA) and Kshetrimayum Tejrendro (TFC) took bronze.

Another UTA athlete, Pamthoiba Thounaojam, won the sub-junior boys over 50 kg category, beating club-mate Loitongbam Tomthinnganba Meitei in their summit clash.

Arnold Moirangthem (TTA) and B Warilemba Meitei (UTA) earned for bronze medals.

UTA's success continued with N Tarabin, who triumphed over L Yaikhomba Meitei (IMRTA) in the sub-junior boys' U-23 kg final.

M Malenganba Singh (TTS) and Giffson Sanasam (HA) completed the podium with bronze medals.

UTA's other gold medal came courtesy of Chingsu Moirangthem, who dominated the sub-junior boys U-16 kg category.
