Manipur Basketball Assn names State men's team for Junior Nationals, mourns demise of H Lamyanba

Imphal, April 19 2026: The Manipur Basketball Association has announced the names of players shortlisted to represent Manipur in the 76th Junior National Basketball Championship to be held from Puducherry from May 22 to 29 .

The athletes who were selected in the team include Devjeet Sanasam, Charoibam Kelbin, Salam Leingakpa, Krish Seleibam, and Malemson Longjam of LMYVA; Chingkheinganba Maibam and Daniel Khuraijam of CYLC; Samson Athokpam and Ronald Ningombam of YOSC; Sijagurumayum Tejkumar, Ningthoujam Arbin and Soibam Korou of TDBA.

The Manipur Basketball Association instructed the selected players to report to the Head Coach, T Nilamani and coaches- N Jackson and Y Kaashper from April 20 at 6.30 am and 3.30 pm daily at Brahmapur Nahabam Basketball Court for intensive training and coaching.

The association also mourned the untimely demise of State player Heisnam Lamyanba on April 14 .

A condolence meeting in his honour was convened at Brahmapur Nahabam Basketball Court today, it said in a condolence note.

H Lamyanba was a very calm, composed and disciplined athlete of the association and had represented Manipur in National Sub-Junior, Youth and Junior championships, the association recalled and shared the irreparable loss and pain of the bereaved family members.
