IRC thump CPC en route to women's polo title

Imphal Riding Club won the 2nd State Wom-en's Polo Tournament 2023 with a 9-3 hammering of Chingkhcihunba Polo Club in their summit clash at Mapal Kangjeibung (Pologround) on Sunday.
M Priya Devi made the most of the rout producing a six-goal blitz for her side.
Priya put Imphal Riding Club 1-0 up in the first chuk-kerbeforeshe pumped in four goals in the next chukker as teammates Kh Devent and M Bijenty also got their names on the scoresheet.
Through the third chukker, the Imphal riders' scoring spree continued without reply as Bijenty scored her second goal and Priya completed her six-goal salvo to put the match beyond doubt.
Imphal Riding Club's nine-goal barrage in the first three chukkers left little time for Chingkhcihunba Polo Club to mount a comeback.
The Chingkhcihunba squad reduced the deficit in the fourth chukker scoring three goals through Th Neelu RK, Asakiran and I Sangeeta but it was too little, too late as Imphal Riding Club held their ground to enjoy a memorable win and get their hands on the winners trophy.
