Manipur women to fight Bihar in semis of Senior National Kabaddi Championships

Imphal, December 18 2012: Manipur women's lost the final match against Indian Railways at the 60th East Zone Senior National Kabaddi Championships and won silver medal as the championships concluded today at Indoor Stadium, Khuman Lampak, Imphal.

Manipur State Kabaddi Association (MSKA) organised the championshipts under the auspices of Amateur Kabaddi Federation of India (AKFI) .

In women's category, Indian Railways beat Odisha in the first semi final.

Indian Railways won 33 points while Odisha won only 11 points.

While in the second semi final, Manipur who won 39 points beat Bihar who won 38 points and entered into the final.

In the final match, Indian Railways beat Manipur and won the champion's title.

Indian Railways won 560 points and Manipur had only 13 points.

In men's category, Indian Railways beat Jharkhand in the first semi final and entered final.

Indian Railways won 43 points and Jharkhand won only 22 points in the match.

In the second semi final, Bihar beat Odisha and entered final.

Bihar won 28 points and Odisha had only 11 points.

In the final, Indian Railways who won 33 points beat Bihar who had 13 points and won the champion's title.

Arjuna Awardee, Tejasvinibai of Indian Railways was declared Best Women Player.

While the title for Best Men Player was adjusted to Bhupender of Indian Railways.
