58 Bn CRPF to host distance runs

Imphal, September 18 2026: The 58 Bn CRPF is preparing to host half marathon and mini marathons for the people of Churachandpur on September 23 at Peace Ground, Churachandpur.

The run with varying distances will be held for men and women in three age brackets, as per a press release issued in this regard.

There will be 21 km (half marathon) for men aged upto 30 years of age, 10 km run for men within 30 to 45 years and 5 km run for men above 45 years.

Meanwhile there will be a 10 km run for women upto 30 years of age and 5 km runs for women who are within 30-45 years and above 45 years, it said.

For the 21 km run, the runners will start at peace ground and head to Kangvai junction before making a U turn and return to the starting point, it said.

For the 10 km run, the runners will start from peace ground and take a U-turn after 5 km and finish at the starting point.

For 5 km run, the runners will cover 2.5 km before turning back towards the peace ground, it said.

The top four finishers in all the categories will be feted with a cash prize of Rs 30,000; Rs 20,000; Rs 15,000; Rs 10,000 each while 5th to 10th place finishers will be feted with a cash prize of Rs 5,000 each.

The runs are organised in collaboration with Sports Authority of India under SPANDAN initiative.

It aims to promote fitness, healthy living, peace, unity, harmony and community participation, it added.
