Imphal, September 16 2017: Ganggam Soccer Club (GSC) started their campaign in style after they carved out an impressive 4-1 victory over Neihsiel Veng Youth Club (NVYC) in the opening match of the Khaikhanlian Memorial District 1st Division league 2017 organised by CDSA at Peace Ground, Tuibong today .

The win today for GSC was shaped by a brace by Boigen Neihsiel and a strike each by K Pautinmang and Henry Kamei.

Wary of each others, the two teams made a cautious start and did not open up in the first half.

After the barren first half, GSC entered the ground with more purpose.

Their efforts to break the deadlock paid dividends when Thangkhogen (Boigen) Neihsiel made no mistake in putting the ball into the back of the net just 28 second into the second session .

GSC strike prodigy Boigen Neihsiel was at it again in the 46th minute to double the lead as the NVYC defence was again caught napping .

Undaunted after conceding two goals, NVYC pushed hard to level the score and their relentless efforts yielded positive result as Lungoulien struck a brilliant goal for his team in the 56th minute.

Later, K Pautinmang and L Henry Kamei took turn to score a goal each for GSC in the 71st and 80th minute respectively to seal the match in style.
