VSAI beat KFC to win 6th Sangai Trophy Veterans' Football C'ship

Imphal, August 16 2025: VSAI Thangmeiband claimed a hard-fought 2-1 victory over KFC in the final of the 6th Sangai Trophy Veterans' Football Championship 2025, held on Saturday at PAMYAL Ground.

The match saw Gyan Moyon break the deadlock for VSAI in the 8th minute, with teammate Kh Kom doubling their lead in the 35th minute.

KFC mounted a spirited comeback effort but could only pull one back in the 45th minute, thanks to a goal from W Umakanta.

Despite the late push, VSAI held firm to lift the trophy.

As champions, VSAI received a cash prize of Rs 1,00,000, while runners-up KFC were awarded Rs 50,000 .

VSAI also swept the majority of individual honours, with Kokeshwor named Best Goalkeeper, Bonomali as Best Defender, Bimolchand earn ing Best Midfielder, and Santa taking the Top Scorer award.

Additionally, Gyan Moyon was adjudged Best Play er (45-50 years) and Rajen Khangamba won Best Play er (55+ years), while KFC's Rk Sanahal claimed the Best Player (50-55 years) award.
