3rd Premier League : United Chandel FC rout IYFC 7-0 to go second

Imphal, December 15 2025: United Chandel FC drubbed Imphal Youth FC 7-0 for 8th win and temporarily dislodge AIM, Khabam from the second spot in the3rd Premier LeagueTable.

In their 13 th match staged this afternoon at SSC Ground, Sekta, United Chandel FC rode on trebles from Thaokhong Malchong Chothe and Ahong Khiang Chothe to seal the huge win and improve one position in the 15-team table.

United Chandel, who posted a 3-2 win against RAU in the previous match for their 7th win, got off to a rousing start displaying keen coordination among the midfielders and forwards and raced to a 5-0 lead at half time before pumping in two more goals in the second half to seal the 7-0 win.

Ahong Khiang Chothe opened the scoring 6 minutes into the game before Thaokung fired two back to back goals in the 14th and the 18th minutes to make it 3-0.Ahong Khiang Chothe returned to action and completed his treble by scoring his two more goals in the 33rd and the 44th minutes and further swelled the lead to 5-0 .

After the restart, Sankhil Darwar further extended the lead to 6-0 in the 56th minute before Thaokung Malchom Chothe rounded off the scoring in the 81st minute.

Earlier in the day, Mayang Imphal United FC (MIUFC) edged past Sang-gai Heroes (SGH) by 2-1 goals for the 7th win in 13 matches and to climbed to fourth position from 8th place.

Neither team made the headway in the first half despite chances until MIUFC broke the deadlock in the 63rd minute before Nongmaithem Suraj doubled the advantage in the 71st minute.

SGH scored the consolation goal late two minutes into the stoppage time through defender Huidrom Alvishon who substituted Yumlembam Mahesh after 53 minutes.
