SLYO, SWYC win in Tbl Thoubal 1st Div

Imphal, August 10 2016: SLYO, Tekcham and SWYC, Charangpat defeated their respective opponents in group A league matches of the ongoing 1st Division Thoubal Football League Tournament 2016, organised by the District Football Association (DFA), Thoubal today at Thoubal Charangpat Mayai Leikai.

SLYO, Tekcham defeated RPU, Patpal 5-2 while SWYC, Charangpat edged past SYDA, Athokpam by a narrow margin of 1 goal to nil.

In the first match today, both SLYO and RPU put up an impressive show till the end of the first half as they were held in a 1-1 draw.

After the breather, SLYO slotted home four goals to register their win while RPU managed to add just one goal.

The goals for SLYO were scored by Anand (27th minute), Milan (52nd minute), Rupa (56th minute) and Gune (43rd and 61st minute) .

The goals for RPU were scored by S Angou (7th minute and 58th minute) .

In the second league match, SWYC and SYDA played an exciting match with none of the team managing to score till the end of the first half.

The lone winning goal for SWYC came in 61st minute as H Ranjan banged in a brilliant goal.

Attempts made the opponents to equalise the goal went abegging.

SYDA, Athokpam and RPU, Patpal will play another league match on Aug 12 at 1.30 pm while SWYC, Charangpat will play ELYSA, Phoudel at 3.30 pm on the same day.
