Tennis: Ribhaskar cruise into men's open singles final

Imphal, January 08 2022: Ribhaskar outlasted Luching 8-2 to cruise into the men's open singles final of the 3rd Manipur Clay Court Tennis Tournament 2022 being underway at Imphal District Tennis Association clay tennis court, Lamphelpat.

Meanwhile, Bona beat Chingkheinganba 8-2 to book the last semi-final ticket of the men's open singles competition.

In the 35+ doubles competition, Romeo and Ramkumar edged past Ibohal and Jayanta 8-6 to seal a place in the semi-finals.

Dompson and Korounga-nba then carved out a 8-3 win over Kene and Kumarjit to seal their place in the 35+ doubles competition before Ashok and Aken outlasted Sanayaima and Pritam 8-5 and Bona and Rabi overcame Balkrishna and Lucas 8-4 to complete the semi-final line up.

Three quarter final matches of the +45 years doubles competition were also decided today.

In a quarter final match of the said category, Manikanta and Rakesh pair outlasted Balkrishna and Arun pair 8-3.Meanwhile, Ranjan and Prakash saw off Kene and Kumarjit 8-5 before Kangjamba and Sanatomba pulled off a 8-4 win over Ramkumar and Romeo.
