Imphal, October 05 2026: The Department of Sports, Manipur University has announced the university men and women's boxing teams for the upcoming All India Inter University Boxing Competitions.

The boxers who have been named for the All India Inter University Boxing (Men) Competition 2026-27 to be hosted by Galgotias University, Greater Noida from October 31 to November 5 include M Nikison of Pravabati College (50 kg) (Reserve : A Naresh of Thambal Marik College); Abdul Noor (55 kg) of Standard College (Reserve : Ph Adison of Thoubal College); L Mangalsana of Biramangol College (60 kg) (Reserve : Kh Johnson of Western College); K Thoungamba of Biramangol College (65 kg); T Radhakanta of Liberal College (70 kg) (Reserve : Md Suhail of YK College); Th Hiliyon of Regional College (75 kg); H Rajdaneil of Mangolnganbi College (80 kg) and Konthoujam Leo of Western College (90+ kg) .

In the meantime, H Karuna of SSGG College (48 kg) (Reserve : M Khrismira of TS Paul MWC); Gunshalu Khumba of SSGG College (51 kg) (Reserve : T Bhumabati of Manipur University); L Luxmi of Kumbi College (54 kg) (Reserve : Amom Priyanka of Kumbi College); Th Prameshwori of SSGG College (57 kg); Th Daina of TS Paul MWC and Th Neha of Biramangol College (70 kg) were named in the women's team who will compete at the All India Inter University Boxing (Women) Competition due to be hosted by MS University, Udaipur, Rajasthan from January 18 to 24, 2027 .

The athletes were further instructed to report to the Assistant Director of Sports, MU at Dr Kamal Indoor Hall of MU on October 9 at 11 am for further coaching and other formalities.
