7 State athletes to compete at Senior National Equipped Powerlifting C'ship

Imphal, August 03 2026: As many as 7 athletes of the All Manipur Powerlifting Association (AMPLA) are set to compete at the Senior National Equipped Powerlifting Championship due to be held from August 29 to September 3 at Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh.

The athletes who were selected to represent Manipur at the event are Mayalaxmi Maimom (57 kg), Konsam Ithoi (57 kg), Nameirakpam Devala (63 kg), Gurumayum Venus Sharma (66 kg), Lanchenba Maimom (74 kg), Pangambam Punshiba (83 kg) and Naoshekpam Rojit (83 kg), said AMPLA in a press release.

The State team will be led by Elangbam Enao as coach, Tensubam Sovini as manager and Naorem Sushila as referee.
