RIMS, MAAMBA pedal for health on World Bicycle Day

Imphal, June 03 2025:
The Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal, in collaboration with the Manipur Adventure and Mountain Biking Association (MAAMBA), organised a cycle rally on Tuesday to promote eco-friendly transport and public health awareness.
The event was flagged off from Jubilee Hall, RIMS, by Prof G Sunil Kumar Sharma, director of RIMS, in the presence of Prof N Sanjib Singh, medical superintendent of RIMS Hospital.
Prof G Sunil Kumar praised the enthusiastic turnout from faculty, staff, and students, highlighting that "cycling is a simple yet impactful tool against lifestyle diseases" .

He also thanked MAAMBA and encouraged everyone to promote cycling for a sustainable future.
The cyclists passed through key locations, including BRTF Lamphel, Watham Leirak, Assembly Road, North AOC, Nityanan-da Chuthek, and Kwakeithel Traffic Point, before assembling at Ideal Club, Tera Bazar.
An awareness programme was conducted at the Ideal Club to highlight the benefits of cycling for health and the environment.
The event drew participation from heads of departments, the deputy director (administration), faculty members, administrative staff, MAAMBA members, and RIMS students.
