51st Sub-Junior National Basketball C'ships : State lads complete group stage sweep with 79-18 thrashing of Meghalaya

Imphal, September 29 2026: Manipur boys continued their red hot form to top Group F as they culminated their league stage in the 51st Sub-Junior National Basketball Championships with a comprehensive 79-18 win over Meghalaya this evening.

Malem Thingnam starred in Manipur's win today contributing game-high 15 points as Nongthombam Chitravash, Shijagurumayum Bronson, Achom Phoenix and Nongthombam Dhanaraj scored 12 points apiece.

Toijam Hitler (6 pts), Shriyans Potsangbam (4 pts), Chongtham Chitan (4 pts) and Mangalsana Rajkumar (2 pts) were the other squad members who found the target for Manipur.

For Meghalaya, ON Kharbhih scored the highest 4 points as PDD Marak and NZ Kharbhih scored 3 points apiece and Wandame Khonglah, P Khaptana, DK Kharbani, and Saigara R Marak scored 2 points apiece.

With the result, Manipur are into the knock-out stage.

Earlier in the day, the State girls went down 38-52 to Meghalaya for the second straight Group F loss.
