Manipur Yoga Society team head to Nagpur for 37th National Yogasana Championship

Imphal, August 28 2025: A 43-member team of Manipur Yoga Society including 4 officials have left Imphal for the 37th National Yogasana Championship 2025 beginning tomorrow at Nagpur.

The team comprising athletes of various age groups were formally flagged off by the president of the Manipur Yoga Society Dr Basudev Singh and others at Bir Tikendrajit International Airport this afternoon, the Manipur Yoga Society said in a press release.

The flag off cum blessing ceremony was also attended by Binod Shethi, Trustee Mani Mandir, ISKCON; K Krishnankumar.

Notably, the team for the National championship cum trial for 11th International Yogasana Championship are being led by Dr Labuktongbam Sibananda Sharma as manager, P Arunkumar as coach, Ningthoujam Angousana as judge and Ahongshangbam Prafullo as media-in-charge.

The athletes who left Imphal today are as follows.

Novices (6 to 10 years): Maimom Yainganba, Thokchom Nancy, Phamdom Debiya, Oinam Lanchenbi, Pukhrambam Laelina;
Sub-Junior (+10 to 14 years): Waikhom Rojesh, Ningombam Malemsana, Kshetrimayum Lucia, Ahongshangbam Thadoi, Thokchom Pihu, Kshetrimayum Aashima;
Youth (+18 to 23 years): Angom Susmilia;
Senior A (+23 to 30 years): Ningthoujam Thajamanbi, Wahengbam Ronilaba;
Senior B (+30 to 40 years): Moirangthem Nipamacha, Thingbaijam Bidyasagar, Ngangbam Deviyarani, Pungsungbam Sonia, Maharabam Binata;
Masters-I (+40 to 50 yrs): Ningthoujam Bheigyachandra, Ayekpam Bedashastri Devi, Soibam Merna.

Masters-II (+50 to 65 years): Wahengbam Priyokumar, Maibam Sanahanbi, Mangsidam Shatyabati, Sagolsem Ganga;
