AMFA Senior Women's Football League : YWC-Th edge MUFA 2-1 to complete 7-3 aggr win

Imphal, June 28 2025: Youth Welfare Club-Thambalkhong (YWC-Th) rode on Senjam Alva Devi's double to edge Manipur United FA (MUFA) 2-1 in the second leg and complete the 7-3 aggregate win in the 15th AMFA Senior Women's Football League 2024-25.YWC-Th, who had registered a comprehensive 5-2 first leg win against MUFA, enjoyed a slender 1-0 first half lead as Senjam Alva broke the deadlock after 43 minutes at Artificial Turf Ground, Lamlong Thongkhong.

MUFA fought back and drew level through Naorem Malemnganbi in the 51st minute but YWC-Th regained the lead when Senjam Alva went deep into the box and beat the MUFA custodian Naorem Khushi in the 62nd minute.

MUFA put in all effort to mount their way back but YWC-Th thwarted all moves to see out their final game in the 6-team double legged tournament 2-1 .

With the result, YWC-Th cemented their place in the third place of the league table on 15 points (from 4 wins and 3 draws) .

Table toppers FC Imphal (20 points from 6 wins and 2 draws in 9 matches) will play second placed MPSC (18 points from 5 wins and 3 draws in 9 matches) in the crucial top of the table and league deciding match tomorrow from 10 am at the same venue.

ESU, who are currently fourth on 12 points from 3 wins and 3 draws in 9 matches, will play YWC-L, who are fifth on 9 points, later on June 30 .
