Manipur amass 15 medals including 10 gold at WAKO India National Kickboxing Championships

Imphal, July 27 2024:
Manipur team have amassed as many as 10 gold, 4 silver and 1 bronze medals till the third day of the Cadet, Junior and Senior WAKO India National Kickboxing Championships being hosted by Rajasthan in Jaipur.
The State team have contributed 6 gold medals and a bronze in the State's tally while the Senior team have managed 4 gold and 4 silver medals in different events.
In the junior category competition, L Tokendro Sharma won a gold medal in the -67 kg full contact event as N Gyanchandra and B Anjipa Sharma won gold medals in the -74 kg and -45 kg category point fighting events.
RK Nengthenu also won a gold medal in -45 kg point fighting event as Maisnam Renee and Kh Kelvin topped in the -51 kg full contact event and -54 kg low-kick event respectively.
The only bronze medal was claimed by Laimayum Ronit Sharma in the -57 kg kick-light event.
Meanwhile in the senior category events, Oinam Govind won a gold medal in the -79 kg point fighting event as L Sanathoi and K Robertson further swelled the gold medal tally by topping in the -51 kg and -74 kg category competition of the same event.
The other gold medal was won by Gurumayum Dijamani who topped the -60 kg full contact event.
The athletes who won the silver medals include Ningthoujam Rousseau (-63 kg kick light), Laishram Kuber (-69 kg point fighting), Kh Chingkheinganba (-69 kg light contact) and Saikhom Amarjit (-74 kg kick light) .
The championships will conclude tomorrow.
