State Level JN Hockey Tournament 2026 : K Birjit Singh HS vs Lamjao HS in the U15 Boys' final

Keisham Birjit Singh High School, Imphal West will lock horns with Lamjao High School, Kakching district in the U15 Boys' title clash of the State Level Jawaharlal Nehru Hockey Tournament 2026 being underway at Hockey Stadium, Khuman Lampak.
In the first semi-final match of the tournament, Keisham Birjit Singh High School trounced Bishnupur Higher Secondary School 9-0 to cruise into the final.
Goalkeeper Yaikhomba Sagolshem shone with a treble (50', 54', 59') including a penalty stroke and two field goals to set up the comprehensive win for the Imphal West side after Ng John (13', 22') and M Michael (40', 42') scored two goals apiece.
Ng Ngouba (6') and Dinaraj Kangujam (45') were also on target for the winning side.
Later in the second semi-final match, Lamjao High School made it to the final with a 3-1 win in the tie-breaker against Young Pioneer's English School (YPES), Imphal East district after the two sides remained locked at 3-3 after four quarters.
It was an end to end game with YPES taking a 1-0 first quarter lead through H Sohan Sharma's field goal in the 13th minute before the Kakching side made it 1-1 at halfway mark with Thongam Lanchenba scoring in the 17th minute.
The third period saw neither team finding the target but Th Lanchenba then turned things around in Lamjao HS's favour by netting a goal in the 48th minute before YPES scored back to back through L Arjun (52') and Sohan (53') to take a 3-2 lead.
The lead was however cancelled the very next minute with Lanchenba Thongba scoring his second and the crucial equaliser for the Kakching side.
The match went down to the wire as neither team were able to find the winner in the remainder of the game and eventually the tie-breaker decided the winners.
Lanchenba Thongam, Th Lanchenba and W Lanchenba hit the target in the tiebreaker for the winners as only L Arjun converted for YPES .
