Hockey Legend discusses ways to revitalize hockey in Manipur

The All Manipur Hockey United Club, also known as Hockey Legend, took some significant resolutions aimed at revitalizing Hockey in the State during the annual general body meeting of the body held today.
The meeting was hosted by the Kongpal Chanam Leikai Development Organisation (KCDO) at its library hall, said Hockey Legend in a press release.
The meeting was attended by prominent figures including Olympian Kangujam Chinglensana; retired DSP A Khelendro; Toijam Biren, general secretary of KCDO and others, it said.
The meeting discussed the critical challenges hindering hockey development in the State including financial barriers faced by players, lack of proper infrastructure and sponsor and other issues, it said.
The meeting concluded with the members taking three resolutions including establishment of a financial pool, development of modem hockey grounds and regular conduct of hockey tournaments in collaboration with the apex body of Hockey in the State.
Soraisham Ratan, Akoijam Surjit Meitei, Lisham Shyamchand and Akoijit Jit were elected as new president, general secretary, CEO and treasurer respectively during the meet, it added.
