MU seal both men and women's overall champions titles in Inter College Thang-Ta competition

Imphal, February 26 2026:
Hosts Manipur University emerged as overall champions of both the men and women's segments in the Rajkumar Sanahal Singh Memorial Manipur University Inter College Thang-Ta (M&W) Competition that was held at Dr Kamal Indoor Stadium, MU, Canchipur today.
Ng Mani College meanwhile finished overall runners up in both the segments.
The day saw N Lanchenba Singh of Ng Mani College secure the - 46 Kg category gold in the men's Phunaba Ama event as Y Rohit Singh of Manipur University bagged the - 54 Kg gold.

Meanwhile in the - 58 Kg competition, S Rabinash Singh of CI College, Th Ajoy Singh of Manipur University and Engel Shagolshem of Ng Mani College made the podium finishes as Rishikumar Keisham of Manipur University and Lanchenba M of Ng Mani College made the 1-2 podium finishes in the - 62 Kg category competition.
Men's - 66 Kg category gold medal meanwhile went to Bony Kongkham of Manipur University as L Lenin Meitei of Manipur University and K Yaiphaba Singh of KP College won the gold and silver medals in the -70 Kg competition.
L Yohenba Singh of Ng Mani College also bagged a gold medal in the - 75 Kg category Phunaba Ama event as his compatriot Nikhil Shagolshem and Y Sanathoi Singh of Manipur University made the 1-2 podium finishes in the - 75 Kg category competition.
Men's Phunaba Anishuba
Th Srinivas Singh of Pravabati College meanwhile sealed the gold medal in the men's - 58 Kg competition as Warepam Bidyasagar of Moirang College earned the - 62 Kg category gold; S Lamjingba Singh of Moirang College bagged the - 66 Kg category gold and Century Heisnam of Pravabati College settled for the silver medal.
M Johnson Singh of Moirang College on the other hand bagged the - 70 Kg category gold beating Kh Lamnganba of Manipur University in the final.
M Nepolian Meitei of Kakching Khunou College on the other hand won the - 75 Kg category gold medal as N Bikash Singh of Thambal Marik College beat Y Sanathoi Singh of Manipur University for the - 80 Kg category gold medal.
Men's Thang-Haiba gold medal meanwhile went to Longjam Sumit Meetei of Ng Mani College as Thanglon gold medal went to Yumnam Deepak Singh of Pravabati College and the Khonglon-Khutlon gold to Yumnam Umakanta Meitei of Pravabati College.
Women's Phunaba Ama
The - 44 Kg category gold medal went to Ningthoujam Linda Devi of Manipur University as A Celina Devi of Moirang College beat Silver Anie Langpoklakpam of Manipur University for the - 52 Kg category gold medal.
In the - 56 Kg category event final, Kh Priyanka Chanu of Ng Mani College defeated N Liklalembi Devi of Waikhom Mani Girls' College as L Shelly Devi of Ng Mani College bagged the + 76 Kg category gold medal.
In the meantime, Bidyalakshmi Devi Manipur University bagged the - 44 Kg category gold as S Chaoba Devi of Pravabati College won the - 48 Kg category gold medal and L Silvia Chanu of Kakching Khunou College sealed the - 52 Kg category gold medal.
In the Thang-Haiba competition, Monika Meitram of Manipur University emerged on top to win the gold as M Inunganbi Devi of Waikhom Mani Girls' College settled for the silver.
Thanglon gold medal meanwhile went to N Daisy Devi of Moirang College while Khonglon-Khutlon gold sent to Rasuni Huidrom of Ng Mani College.
