TKWA Trophy : TYDA FC trounce SPS FC 3-0, TKWA beat LSC 2-1

Imphal, April 23 2018: TYDA FC, Toubul saw stellar performance from Th Bungcha in a 3-0 rout of SPS FC, Khongjom in a Group A league match today while TKWA.

Tentha downed LSC, Langthabal by 2-1 goals in a Group B league match of the ongoing TKWA trophy organised by Tentha Khongbal Welfare Association at Tentha ground.

In the first match, TYDA FC delivered a much better performance than SPS FC which essentially put the game out of reach in the first half with two successive goals by Th Bungcha.

TYDA FC opened the scoring in the 3rd minute when Th Bungcha gathered a long pass and dribbled the ball nearly to the SPS FC goal line and scored into an empty net to give an early lead to 1 -0.Seven minutes later, Th Bungcha set up the second goal with a perfectly placed goal past SPS FC goalkeeper to make it 2-0 at the end of the first half.

TYDA FC continued their form in the second half and surged ahead with 3-0 lead in the 32nd minute courtesy to Jackson of SPS FC who conceded an own goal by mistake.

SPS FC, by contrast, put up much less opposition throughout their play and suffered a humiliating defeat against the better opponent with a margin of 0-3 goals.

In the second match, both teams were reluctant to take chances in the beginning but TKWA changed their game plan and started to mount pressure to create some opportunity in their favour.

Eventually, TKWA got the opening goal in the 23rd minute when Saran nosed his way in front of LSC's defenders and then scored past rival goalie to make it 1-0 lead at the end of the first half.

Ten minutes into the second half, Tondonba got in on the action at the 41st minute mark, receiving a well crafted pass from his fellow teammate and scored it at close range to extend the lead to 2-0 .

LSC got lucky in the 5Qth minute as Jonychand of TKWA made a mistake and conceded a goal which reduced the goal difference to 1-2.However, LSC were not able to capitalise on the opportunity and let TKWA run away with a victory at the end of the regulation time.
