AKSDO, YWC ease into 4th MNCA U-14 Boys Tournament semi-finals

AKSDO, Khangabok and YWC, Langthabal registered contrasting quarterfinal victories to ease into the semi-finals of the ongoing 4th MNCA U-14 Boys Tournament.
At Kongba Dhobi Lampak, AKSDO notched up an 8-wicket win over Al-Ameen, Lilong to set up a semi-final date with KSDO, Kyamgei on February 25 at Kongba Dhobi Lampak.
Al-Ameen won the toss and opted to bat first but were bowled out for 79 runs in 21 overs by AKSDO bowlers before they eased to the target in 16.3 overs at the cost of only two wickets.
Maibam Ashique 37 and Shohel Akter 21 were the leading run getters for Al-Ameen in their innings that witnessed Khundrakpam Bidyasagar (3/14 in 6 overs) and Ningthoujam Bidyananda (2/20 in 5 overs) sharing 5 crucial wickets.

In reply, AKSDO lost the opening pair of Elangbam Chingamba and Khundrakpam Borish cheaply to Jor Khan and Maibam Ashique respectively before Kh Korounganba 26 and Moirangthem Bidyananda 22 forged an unbeaten 55-run partnership for the third wicket to seal the victory.
Khundrakpam Bidyasagar was eventually adjudged player of the match.
Elsewhere at Khudeiband Lampak, YWC bundled out chasing SHADOW for 223 runs to seal a 20-run victory and set up a semi-final date with RCA, Lilong at the same venue on February 25 .
Asked to bat first, YWC amassed 243 runs for 6 wickets in just 30 overs thanks to half century knocks from Mujamin (62 off 52 balls; 9 fours), Sayonba (60 off 39 balls; 6 fours and 3 sixes) and Pukhrambam Bonison (55 off 50 balls; 1 four and 1 six).
For SHADOW, Arubam Goshan (2/41) returned with the best bowling figures as four others picked a wicket apiece.
Chasing 244 for the win, Kh Devis (98 off 74 balls; 10 fours and 3 six) and Sagatpam Telheiba (56 off 54 balls; 7 fours) gave SHADOW a flourishing start but their departure marked the turning point of the chase and eventually they slumped to 223 all out.
Sayonba (3/38 in 6 overs) and Mujamin (3/15 in 3 overs) shared 6 wickets for YWC in this innings as three others claimed a wicket apiece to hasten the SHADOW collapse.
Mujamin who produced an allround show was named player of the match.
