Imphal, June 22 2026: Deputy Chief Minister Losii Dikho has expressed his heartfelt condolences on the passing away of former State head coach Gift Raikhan.

The AFC, 'A' Licence Coach passed away this afternoon at Shija Hospital.

He was 45.In a condolence message, Dikho said that Gift Raikhan's immense contribution to football, his dedication towards nurturing young talents, and his passion for the beautiful game have left an unforgettable mark on the sporting community.

He was not only a coach but also a mentor and inspiration to countless players who benefited from his guidance, discipline, and wisdom, he said.

As a pioneer in the coaching field among the Nagas, his passing is a great loss for the football fraternity in general and especially the Naga people, he said.

We have only three AFC 'A' Qualified Naga Coaches and have lost two of them in a span of a year, when their service is needed the most, he said.

Dikho also extended his deepest sympathies and prayers to his (Gift Raikhan) family, friends, players, and all those who were touched by his life.

May the almighty grant the family strength and courage in this difficult time.

May his soul rest in eternal peace, he prayed.
